When it comes to storing camera footage, most users default to the manufacturer’s own “cloud”, often hosted by Big Tech. But the global AWS outage a few weeks reminded us how fragile that dependency can be. Thousands of devices worldwide, from security cameras to smart lights, suddenly went offline.

That’s where ftpGrid comes in, a European, GDPR-compliant cloud storage platform with FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and SCP access. It’s simple, secure, and works perfectly as a Reolink cloud alternative, without lock-in or subscription traps.

Why Choose ftpGrid for Reolink?

  • No vendor lock-in: Your footage stays accessible from any FTP/SFTP client, not tied to a single app or ecosystem.

  • GDPR-first design: Hosted in Germany, encrypted in transit and at rest.

  • Protocol flexibility: Works with FTP, SFTP, FTPS, and SCP, ideal for Reolink and Axis devices.

  • Free tier available: Start with 512 MB free and test your setup before upgrading.

Step-by-Step: Set Up Reolink FTP Cloud Storage
